A Tranquil Spa Bathroom with a Wood Soaking Tub

The Mineral Spa Retreat

A spa-inspired bathroom layered with natural textures, warm travertine, and mineral-toned artwork.

This bathroom embraces a restrained palette of soft creams, warm stone, and dark wood. Rather than relying on decorative details, the design focuses on materiality and atmosphere.

At the center of the room sits a round wood soaking tub. Its rich finish introduces warmth against the lighter travertine surfaces, while the oversized bath tray creates a simple place for tea, candles, or a favorite book during a long soak.

Above the tub, a heavily textured artwork introduces subtle shades of blue, green, and stone gray. The mineral-inspired composition adds depth and contrast while remaining harmonious with the room’s quiet palette.

Natural light enters through the floor-to-ceiling window, softening the materials throughout the space. Linen textiles, ceramics, and a small collection of spa essentials reinforce the feeling of calm without overwhelming the design.

What makes the room successful is its balance. The dark wood tub provides visual weight, while the surrounding palette remains light and understated. The result is a space that feels both grounded and restorative.

A bathroom designed not simply for function, but for slowing down.

The artwork featured in this space is one of my original mixed media works and is available as a fine art print.
