About ArtfulHaus
Hi, I’m Alison.
I’ve always been drawn to beautiful spaces.
Whether I was at a birthday party, a holiday gathering, a restaurant, or a hotel, I often found myself just as fascinated by the spaces around me. While others were chatting or enjoying the occasion, I was noticing the architecture, furniture, lighting, materials, and the small details that gave each place its own character.
I’ve never formally studied interior design.
But years of working as a texture artist also shaped the way I approach interiors.
Not to chase the “right” answer, but to trust what genuinely feels right.
Not everyone connects with the same painting. A piece that feels deeply meaningful to one person may leave someone else completely unmoved.
Over time, I realized that meaningful work isn’t created by trying to please everyone. It comes from trusting your instincts, following your own ideas, and creating something that feels authentic to you. Without realizing it, that same mindset naturally found its way into how I style spaces.
A few years ago, my family needed to move closer to my husband’s office, so we decided to sell our home.
When we first listed it, the house stayed on the market much longer than we expected.
Instead of hiring a professional home stager, I began rearranging the furniture, refining the layout, and styling the space one area at a time.
Not long afterward, the house sold.
What stayed with me wasn’t simply that the house sold. It was how much I enjoyed shaping the feeling of a space.
That experience stayed with me for years and eventually became the foundation of ArtfulHaus.
Today, ArtfulHaus is where I explore how artwork, furniture, lighting, materials, and thoughtfully chosen objects come together to shape the feeling of a space.
Some rooms are inspired by real interiors. Others begin as original concepts that explore a particular mood, aesthetic, or design idea.
I also use AI as a design tool to help visualize layouts, architectural ideas, and spatial concepts.
AI helps me explore the structure of a space, but every artwork, styling decision, color palette, and decorative object is thoughtfully selected and curated by me.
Most of the artwork featured throughout ArtfulHaus is my own, created as part of my work as a texture artist. On rare occasions, I may feature artwork from artists, galleries, or creative partners I collaborate with when it naturally complements a particular space. Whenever I do, the artist and source are always clearly credited.
Over time, I’ve come to believe that beautiful spaces aren’t created by a single remarkable piece.
They come to life when every element quietly supports and connects with the others.
That’s the idea behind ArtfulHaus. It’s what you’ll find throughout every space I share here.
I’m so glad you’re here.
-Alison
